By October 2020, work had started on replacing the old signals. However, they did this in a very weird way. They removed the pedestrian gates and took the gates off the main signals, plus they removed the old relay case entirely, thus rendering the crossing completely inoperable. I'm assuming trains were flagging the crossing in the meantime, but this was quite the confusing site to see. By December, the new signals were installed and activated.

In October 2021, we see the sidewalk on the west side of the street was rerouted away from the crossing. This was why no new southern pedestrian gate was installed. Also, new traffic lights were installed here, including on the cantilever.
